Preston Manor (pictured above) is the former manor house of the ancient Sussex village of Preston.. The present building dates largely from 1738, when Lord of the manor Thomas Western rebuilt the original 13th-century structure, part of which remains inside.
The Manor is reputed to be one of the most haunted buildings in Britain. Phenomena are varied and have included a White Lady believed to be dressed in 16th century clothing; a Grey Lady; a disembodied hand that moves up and down one of the bed posts; fabric has been torn; lights turning off on their own; and audible phenomena include unusual noises and footsteps.
